Lilly Pulitzer Spring 2013

It's here!! I'm in love with basically the entire collection, so I did my best to narrow down to a few favorite pieces.

1. Lacina Dress This shift is so classic Lilly. I'm making a push for this to be my new go-to shift!!
2. Joslin Dress A gorgeous, yet still playful, dressier number!
3. Freja Dress My favorite piece in the entire collection, hands down. If Lacina is my go-to shift, Freja is my go-to everything April to October dress. I'm in love.
4. Payton Dress Another stunning dress that would be perfect for a cocktail party or spring dance/formal.
5. Sloane Short My picture really doesn't do them justice. Do yourself a favor and click that link and zoom in. I don't think I've ever seen a pair of shorts this visually/texturally stunning.
6. Didi Dress Tickles my maxidress fancy, and would you look at that beading on the collar? I die. This dress reminds me of walking barefoot on the beach at twilight. Oh, you too? I thought so.
7. Walsh Short White eyelet. A must-have for spring and summer.
8. Delia Dress Ah, yet another rendition of the lovely Delia. The lace (if you can even call it that) flowers on this one are beautifully unexpected, and I'm already picturing this color combo against my tan and sun-lightened hair.
9. Briella Dress I'd say it was begging for a statement necklace, but this print packs the biggest statement of all. But a multistrand pearl something-or-other is the perfect complement.

I love that the whole collection has a very late-50's/early-60's vibe, like a real return to Lilly's roots. Everything, especially the dresses, is something I could see myself wearing over and over for years to come! And seeing all of these fun prints and bright colors just makes me want summer even more!!

What are your favorites from the Spring collection?

Not Your Boyfriend's Clothes

Boyfriend style clothing is no new trend, but lately, I've fallen even further in love with it! Men's flannels and sweaters have been my kryptonite lately. They're so cozy, and if you style it right, are still fun and girly!

Shirt | Sweater | Leggings | Boots | Bracelets (top, middle, bottom) | Watch

It all starts with a button down or sweater. Pick one. Layering both will likely turn out too bulky and notsocute. My favorites come from the men's section at J.Crew, Target, and LL Bean. Target is great because it's very inexpensive...I've found some great steals there!! LL Bean won't do too much damage to your wallet either, and the sale section at J.Crew is a goldmine.

*sizing tip: Buy a size that's close in name or number to your real size. Don't make the mistake of buying a large just because you want it to be big! A small or medium will give you the looser, relaxed fit you want without overwhelming you with fabric.

The next essential component to this look is a very slim fitting pant. Since there's already so much volume on top, your pants should be sleek and streamlined. A dark skinny jean is usually a good choice, but my go to has always been leggings. Since the shirt is longer and bigger, leggings are really a perfect companion. The LuluLemon Wunder Under Pants are absolutely fantastic. If you don't own a pair, go get some please. You and your closet will thank me later.

Rounding out this look are your girly accessories. Pearls, a hair bow, a fun watch/stack of bracelets, and riding boots are my fall backs.

Preppy iPhone Cases

Let me start off by saying how much I looove my iPhone. For years, I dealt with having a lame, boring cell phone that shut off whenever I set it down on a table. Talk about temperamental. This spring, my parents surprised me with an iPhone and I made the switch, no questions asked! One of my favorite parts about having an iPhone is how easy it is to personalize it with a fun case and how easy it is to switch out your case depending on your mood! iPhone cases also make great gifts, because there is really a case for everyone. For my birthday, my sister and two of my best friends got me new cases, which I loved.

My little case collection (Tory Burch, Kate Spade, and my original case).

Everywhere I go, I feel like I find so many new cases that I want. I've had to really practice self control on this little obsession, because I know it would be so easy for me to drop some money on a case here, a case there, and I would go broke on iPhone cases!

Marley Lilly has the cutest monogrammed cases. Since I'm loving chevron right now, I would definitely go with this cute pink and navy one!

A case to match my agenda? Yes, please!

This Kate Spade case is just so fun! And we all know I have a weakness for anything and everything metallic.

Who doesn't love dots?

Love the colorblocking!

I always have a hard time choosing between hard cases and silicone ones. I haven't really developed a preference yet, but I lean towards my hard cases for regular use and the silicone one when I go running because it's easier to grip!

Where do you get your cases?

Style File: Kate and Pippa

{via}

To put it quite bluntly, I'm kind of obsessed with Kate, excuse me, Duchess Catherine, and her sister, Pippa. To me, and I'm sure to many of my fellow preps, Kate and Pippa, especially Kate, have cemented themselves as classic, preppy style icons, up there with Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, and Sarah Vickers. I'm serious.

This is one of my favorite Kate outfits ever.

{via}
Pippa's style is a bit trendier than Kate's, but she still has a very classic quality to her wardrobe. I love the blazer and bag here!

I'm soo in love with this pink frock!

Twinzies!

Are you a fan of Kate and Pippa too? Do you consider yourself a Kate or a Pippa?

A Preppy Girl Can't Live Without...

The other day in my Health class, our teacher asked us to write down ten things that we "couldn't live without." On my list were family, friends, dance, and blogging, among other things. The exercise got me thinking. What are the ten things a preppy girl can't live without? I thought about this for a while, and eventually reached a conclusion. In no particular order, here are the ten things a preppy girl can't live without, according to North Shore Prep.

Pearls

Bows

Loafers

Navy Blazer

Oxford Cloth Button-Downs

Chino Shorts

Pencil Skirts

Longchamp Totes

Cardigans

A Little Black Dress

What's on your list of ten?
