Exercising more regularly/more often was (and is!) one of my big goals for 2012. It's such an easy thing to push aside and say you'll do it later, but it's equally easy to just do it!
I know that there are days when I come home from a long day at school and Poms and the absolute last thing I want to do is get on the elliptical or do some extra crunches. I want to sleep. Forever. But once I'm doing them, and after I finish, I feel so much better!
With second semester starting Monday (yes, Finals are OVER!!), I'm making it my mission to do a short workout each morning, right when I wake up. If you exercise early, it sets the tone for the rest of the day. Not only will you be more energized throughout the day, you also burn more calories during subsequent activity in your day and it kickstarts your metabolism.
Starting Monday morning, I will be doing:
50 crunches of varied styles (i.e.: traditional, legs up, side, bicycle, twisting, etc.)
25 Push Ups
25 Tricep Dips
20 Squats
20 Lunges on each side
I'll also be getting on the elliptical at least twice a week for 20-30 minutes of H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training)
With Nationals (2 weeks!), Spring Break, and Turnabout coming up, I want to look and feel my best.
I encourage you to make good health a priority with me this year.
