SENIORS SENIORS

This is it, y'all. Today I had my last first day of high school. It's so weird to finally be the oldest in the school, when for the past three years I've looked up to, and sometimes idolized, the senior classes before me. But here we are, at the beginning of the end.

All of a sudden, it seems like life is rushing forward at me. College, graduation, prom. My last football season, my last Nationals, my last Homecoming and Turnabout. All the things that I dreamed and fantasized about for so long are finally staring me in the face.

It feels good. I'm ready (despite the fact I went to school today without even a notebook or a folder...just my Lilly Agenda).

Senior year, let's go.

Under the Stadium Lights

Ladies and gentlemen, high school (and college! Geaux Tigers!!) football has returned, making yours truly a very happy girl. Football season is, quite honestly, my favorite part of the whole school year (besides Nationals weekend!). I love the atmosphere and spirit of the school, the electric feeling I get running out to the fifty-yard line for halftime, and walking around every Friday seeing everyone decked out in blue and gold. Friday night was opening night in our stadium, on our brand new turf field!!

50-yard line on the new field!

Like many people, I am a tiny bit obsessed with the turf. It's better to play on (I'm going off what I hear from the football team), better to dance on, and, while we're being honest, so much better to look at!

Some of the team.

We won the game by a landslide, and had a pretty great halftime show, if I do say so myself. All in all, it was a fantastic night!!

Also, this year we got new uniforms! Pictured are our gameday uniforms, that we wear to school and to the game before halftime, but we also got new competition uniforms too!

My official Poms picture for this season with a closeup of our brand new gameday uniforms! The little white dots are crystals, natch.

The white bow has become part of my gameday standard, along with my favorite Urban Decay gold glitter eyeliner. It's been a bit of a gameday routine/ritual for me since freshman year, and it's just not the same without it!

Do you love football season as much as me? Who are you cheering for?
