SENIORS SENIORS

This is it, y'all. Today I had my last first day of high school. It's so weird to finally be the oldest in the school, when for the past three years I've looked up to, and sometimes idolized, the senior classes before me. But here we are, at the beginning of the end.

All of a sudden, it seems like life is rushing forward at me. College, graduation, prom. My last football season, my last Nationals, my last Homecoming and Turnabout. All the things that I dreamed and fantasized about for so long are finally staring me in the face.

It feels good. I'm ready (despite the fact I went to school today without even a notebook or a folder...just my Lilly Agenda).

Senior year, let's go.

How To Wear It: Tennis Skirt

I don't play tennis. I've always wanted to, but I never have really played, aside from the casual game in PE. That didn't stop me from buying the most presh, super girly tennis skirt from lululemon
earlier this summer though.

Technically, they're calling it a running skirt, but who are we kidding? It's a spandex skirt with attached shorts. Tennis skirt, running skirt; tomayto, tomahto. Point is, I'm obsessed. I honestly wear this skirt everywhere, with everything. (Buyer beware: Like most bottoms from lululemon, the skirt definitely runs a little small. I'm pretty much always a size 2, sometimes a 4, but I take a 6 in this one! I would definitely recommend trying it on in-store before buying.)

The great thing about a tennis skirt is that it is just as comfy as a pair of norts, but looks a lot more pulled together! It's great for busy days, like when I have lots of errands to run early in the day and practice later. I can't wait to expand my collection–lululemon always has new colors coming in!

Do you love tennis skirts too?

Muffy

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted a Jeep Wrangler. My closest family friends have an old, black, stick-shift one, and I have countless fun memories from when I was a kid, riding in the back in the summer with the top off and all the kids from the neighborhood piled in to go to the beach. It's the car that my best friend drove me to school in every day my freshman year (her senior year), chugging along as she tried to figure out how to smoothly drive stick. The Jeep was fun

When I got my license, I begged my parents for a car of my own. From the very beginning, I was off taking one car or another, favoring my mom's SUV.

The week after my birthday in July, my dreams came true!

How cute is she? I named her Muffy, and I am obsessed. For those of y'all who have never had the chance to drive a Wrangler, I highly recommend it. I've never had this much fun driving a car. And for those of you who have–Jeep Nation, baby–you know what I'm talking about.

I was so lucky that Muffy came with both a soft-top and a hard-top, so I plan on using the soft-top in the spring and summer when the weather is nice (this way I can easily just take it off!) and the hard-top when it gets cold.

What I'm most excited for is to get some decals for my windshield. I contemplated for a long time whether I'd put them on the front windshield or the back, but since I only want two, and I'll be using the soft-top often, I think I'll put them in the passenger side corners of my front windshield!

My decals of choice? My monogram (natch) and the University of Alabama logo (Roll Tide!).

Dixieland Monogram sells vinyl monogram decals in sizes ranging from two to six inches. I'm thinking four inches will be perfect! As for Alabama, the crimson A will work just fine for me.

I Hate Doing These Posts...

...mostly because I hate admitting that I've been a horrid, inconsistent blogger. I'm so sorry, y'all. On that note, it's roundup time!

I promised I would recap Country Thunder for you, and I have to say, it was a super fun weekend. Two of my friends and I drove up each day which was not as bad as it sounds, plus I got to use my own shower each night. Huge plus.

{First day with one of my Poms teammates!}

{Riding the bull on Day One!!}

{Day Two with another teammate!}

{Day Three}

The performers were awesome. Keith Urban rocked it out on the first night, and Brad Paisley was a huge hit. But my favorite was definitely Jake Owen on Sunday night to wrap it up.

Next highlight of the last few weeks was the Poms Barbecue. It was weird with it being the first of many "lasts" this year, but I had so much fun with my friends regardless!

 {SENIORS!}

 {My best friend and fellow captain}

 {Most of Varsity}

{The Five Best Friends}

{With 4 of our 5 wonderful new baby sophs}

This last weekend, Mama, Little Sis, and I took an impromptu trip up to Saugatuck, Michigan, complete with horseback riding, ice cream from Kilwin's, and stand-up paddleboarding! By the way, I'm obsessed with paddleboarding–so much fun and a killer workout.

{On the pier}

{Horseback riding!}

On the college front, my applications to both Alabama (ROLLLL TIDE) and LSU have been completed, and my Common App is just about done, so three cheers for being ahead of the game!

Last big announcement, the new and improved Smart Girls Group relaunches September 1st! Mark your calendars, ladies, because we have an awesome new issue of the Guide coming out as well as a new and improved Loop! Everything is going to be bigger and better and we are so happy to see our sisterhood grow.
