Happy Thanksgiving!

It's Turkey Day, y'all! I hope everyone has a wonderful day with the people they love the most, watching football, eating delicious food, and celebrating all that we are so blessed to have.

I love this verse; it has inspired me to really reflect today on what I am thankful for.

Everyday, I realize more and more how blessed I am to live the life I do. I have loving and supportive parents who encourage me to pursue my dreams and provide for countless things. I've grown so much closer with my younger sister this past year, and I am incredibly thankful for that.

My wonderful friends never fail to make me smile. They give me their shoulders to cry on, the best hugs, and I always have a great time with them. I can't imagine life without them!

I am beyond thankful for my Poms team and our fantastic, supportive, and all around awesome coach. Poms has been a huge positive in my high school career, and I have made the best friends and memories from it.

I'm thankful for so many other things too, some very important and some not so much, but I'm happy to have them in my life just the same. Student Council, Pinterest, my faith, J.Crew and Lilly, our troops, and America are just a few off of my never ending list of things to be thankful for. God has blessed me in countless ways, and I am forever grateful.

Not Your Boyfriend's Clothes

Boyfriend style clothing is no new trend, but lately, I've fallen even further in love with it! Men's flannels and sweaters have been my kryptonite lately. They're so cozy, and if you style it right, are still fun and girly!

Shirt | Sweater | Leggings | Boots | Bracelets (top, middle, bottom) | Watch

It all starts with a button down or sweater. Pick one. Layering both will likely turn out too bulky and notsocute. My favorites come from the men's section at J.Crew, Target, and LL Bean. Target is great because it's very inexpensive...I've found some great steals there!! LL Bean won't do too much damage to your wallet either, and the sale section at J.Crew is a goldmine.

*sizing tip: Buy a size that's close in name or number to your real size. Don't make the mistake of buying a large just because you want it to be big! A small or medium will give you the looser, relaxed fit you want without overwhelming you with fabric.

The next essential component to this look is a very slim fitting pant. Since there's already so much volume on top, your pants should be sleek and streamlined. A dark skinny jean is usually a good choice, but my go to has always been leggings. Since the shirt is longer and bigger, leggings are really a perfect companion. The LuluLemon Wunder Under Pants are absolutely fantastic. If you don't own a pair, go get some please. You and your closet will thank me later.

Rounding out this look are your girly accessories. Pearls, a hair bow, a fun watch/stack of bracelets, and riding boots are my fall backs.

Lilly Resort 2013

As it gets colder and colder, there's nothing that perks me up more than the release of the 2013 Lilly Pulitzer Resort Collection! It's already got me dreaming of sun and sand and nights under the stars....

Camden Dress

You can never have too many shifts! And the "In the Beginning" print is just presh!!

Shop it here

God knows why I don't have an Elsa yet...or like, six, considering all the prints and solids they come in! (And more colors!!)

The Delia dress in this print is probably my favorite item from the whole collection. Mama, if you're reading this, tell Santa ;)

If you just can't wait to wear all the cute prints from the resort collection, Murfee scarves will be your kryptonite. Also be careful if you're like me, and you just love scarves.

How could I resist one in the same print as my planner?

What are you eyeing from Resort 2013?

InVESTments

For the most part, I hate coats. I really only wear coats when it's way too cold for me to function without one and I put off wearing a real coat for as long as possible...which is actually getting pretty close. Lately, I've been relying on my puffer vest for a little extra warmth when I really need it. Vests are great for in between temperatures and when you don't want the added volume of a full coat.

I'm definitely partial to a good quilted vest (note: I'm in love with the one from L.L. Bean and the one from J.Crew!), but there are some super cute fleece ones out there too.

Patagonia wins the fleece vest battle by a mile.

And second place goes to Vineyard Vines, duh.

What's your in between outerwear choice?

Cute Key Fobs

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts in the past week or two! I was so busy with the end of the quarter, and running a little low on time and creativity, but I'm really going to make an effort to post more the next few weeks. I've been running around a little more than usual lately, and it seems like I'm always in and out of my car. I'm also constantly carrying my keys around in my hand, just because I hate fiddling in my purse for them when I come home. I keep my keys on an old (like six years old...) silver Coach star key fob, and as worn out and trashed as it is, I won't stop using it until I find a perfect new one. Key fobs seem so inconsequential, but a cute fob makes grabbing your keys put a smile on your face and is another fun way to show your style. Since I'm in the market for a new one, I have been seeking out fobs...there are so many choices!

Smathers & Branson has a fantastic selection of needlepoint key fobs, and if they don't have what you're looking for, you can even get one custom made! Any of their key fobs can be monogrammed, and the customer service for custom and monogrammed fobs is also fantastic, so I highly recommend them. Here's some of my favorites from S&B:

Republican (love!)

We all know how much I love Vineyard Vines...how presh is this polo key fob?

The Valet Key Ring from Coach is definitely a genius idea, and this design is sleek and sophisticated while still fun and girly.

Cutout monograms are a bit of an obsession of mine. Naturally, I'm in love with this cutout monogram Lilly Pulitzer key chain from Dixieland Monogram!

Rounding out the top picks, leave it to Kate Spade to come up with a fob as quirkily adorable as this one:

What do you keep your keys on? Is a cute fob or lanyard essential to you?
